My day with my grandma.....

So I spent the whole day with my grandma yesterday. I got up early and went to work with dh until it was closer to 8am so I could be dropped off at her house. Then we both went and picked blackberries. Two buckets full! You should of seen us *giggling*. I almost feel in the bush once, got pricked a ton of times. It looks like I was in a cage match with a cat, I'm so scratched up! *giggling*. I may just have to go again and get more berries, there were tons! I plan on making some blackberry pie, so if you have a good recipe let me know please!
Anyways it was difficult to see my grandma walk back up the hill to her house, she was puffing and had to rest a few times. It reminded me that she is getting older and slowing down. Just to think that she is so energetic, vibrant and hilarious in other aspects tho. Next week she goes to Vancouver to get her skin cancer removed. She told me she didn't know if she would make it. If the cancer had spread more...but that she wasn't worried. She is 79 years old, and like I said full of energy still at her age. It hurt me to hear her say that, and I am of course worried, but will just keep praying and make sure I go see her more often. I just hope they get all the cancer.
We did also go out for lunch, it was really nice. Altho this other chick kept staring at me while I was talking to my grandma. I don't mean just glance at me, she literally came out of her booth to look at me. It was ridiculous! I almost went over there and asked if she had a problem or something. *not giggling*.
Anyways I have slightly got off track. We went back to my grandma's place and sat and relaxed. She has the view of the golf course...it's really beautiful. So we just sat and watched tv, I nodded off for an hour or so, remember I was up early like 6:20am. Then when dh got off work we all had dinner together, then reclined in the living room and watched tv. It was a great day and most of the night, we were there til 9:30pm. I told Tim that we will go every week...
Please don't ever take for granted any of your family members. Always make time for them...(not that you have or I have). You just never know.
I am a little worried about her procedure in Vancouver, but am hoping they get all the cancer out.

So to end on a happy note, that was my great day!!!
